Elton John, Leon Russell

Elton John Wows Ft. Worth

The fantastic Sir Elton John graced Ft. Worth with his presence in an amazing concert that had the Ft. Worth Convention Center packed to the rafters. Joining him was Leon Russell. The two classic artists have recently released an album together, “The Union”.

Last night’s gig was a mixture of both hits from each artist as well as a showcase of them together with the new album. Leon Russell started the night off with a five song set including ‘Tightrope’ and ‘A Song For You’. But it was when Elton came out that the crowd really went wild.

The first section of Elton’s set was all hits that had the crowd singing along and on their feet. ‘Saturday Night’s’ started things off and ‘Rocket Man’ lasted forever with long piano solos throughout. Followed up by ‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’ and ‘Bennie and the Jets’ there was nothing anyone could have complained about. And Elton himself seemed to be having a fantastic time, even saying that this was a place he could see himself living.

Leon joined Elton once again and they introduced people to their new album, starting things off with ‘If It Wasn’t For Bad’ and ending up with ‘In The Hands of Angels’. The new songs were met with pleasure from the crowd though when things went back to being only Elton and more of his classics were played the excitement went up again. The night was wrapped up with ‘The Bitch is Back’ and ‘Your Song’ and the cheers went on forever.

Sir Elton John will always be an amazing showman and if you haven’t yet seen this show find another date you can get to and go. It will be a night to remember.
