Evanescence, The Pretty Reckless

Evanescence return with a vengeance

It’s been quite a while since EVANESCENCE has visited Dallas and Wednesday night their fans showed them just how much they were missed. Despite the Rangers playing in the World Series that night, the Palladium Ballroom was jam packed with people ready to rock.

RIVAL SONS kicked things off and I was pleasantly surprised. The band was quite good, if a bit mellow for the night, and the crowd really seemed to enjoy them. THE PRETTY RECKLESS got the energy going with “Zombie”, “Goin’ Down” and a cover of Audioslave’s “Like a Stone”.

But the crowd went wild when Amy Lee hit the stage. With a very large setlist she didn’t waste any time and started out with “What You Want”. The band had a nice mix of old favorites such as “Going Under” and “Bring Me To Life” and “Lithium” as well as songs off their newest album. Pulling a piano out onto a platform in the crowd, Amy Lee had everyone in the palm of her hand and made it clear that though EVANESCENCE may have been quiet for a while they were back in full force.

Despite a few technical difficulties throughout the night with all the bands, and with Amy Lee’s vocals being a bit too low, the show as undoubtedly a success and if you have a chance to catch a show this tour don’t miss it.
