Jingle Ball 2013 Starts Holiday Season With A Bang

The iHeart Radio/KISS FM Jingle Ball kicked off in Dallas last night at American Airlines Center to a huge turn out. This was great news not only for the artists performing, but for the Kidd’s Kids organization started by the late Kidd Kraddick. One dollar from every ticket sale went to the organization and from the looks of things that was a very nice-sized contribution. As holiday parties go it was a good way to start off the season.

Halloween Arrives Early at the South By So What Music Festival

Anytime you hold an outdoor event, you face the risk of running afoul of the weather. Unfortunately, that is precisely what happened at the second night of the South By So What Fall Edition festival. Although billed as a rain or shine event, heavy electrical storms forced organizers to shut the event down early for the safety of the performers and their fans.

The Austin Vampire Ball was held on October 19, 2013 at Elysium in Austin, TX. Hosted by Logan South and Daley Catherine Hodges, the king and Queen of Austin, the show featured Diminished 7 from Los Angeles, burlesque performances, a costume contest, and a variety of local vendors.

The Eagles Bring Their History Lesson to Dallas

School is in session with The Eagles. Celebrating over 40 years in existence and last year’s documentary “The History of the Eagles,” they have been on the road for months on the tour of the same name. They finally arrived in Dallas with shows on Friday and Saturday, October 11-12. With a set running over three hours, the band touched on the highlights of its past with sentimentalism, humor, and a lot of truly classic music.

Dallas is Going To Hell

Anytime The Pretty Reckless come to town, fans in Dallas get pretty excited. October 4, 2013 was no different. People lined up to see the Going To Hell Tour, consisting of The Pretty RecklessHeaven’s Basement from the UK, and Louna from Russia. Already a fan of The Pretty Reckless and having heard Heaven’s Basement before but not seen them live, I was looking forward to the show. Louna I had not heard of until that night but they made a very lasting impression for more than just one reason.

Blameshift Rolls Into Dallas

With several clubs in the Deep Ellum district of downtown Dallas, TX, there are usually several shows to choose from on any given night. Wednesday is one of the quieter nights, so the fact that there wasn’t very much of a crowd at Wits End wasn’t all that surprising. It was a pity, though, because they all missed one hell of a show as Blameshift and Super bob rolled into town and pulled in local boys The Circle and Waking Alice along for the ride.
